The Key to Peace

We are in a time of great hatred and acrimony, heart despair, bitter accusations, and a crass competition that has the potency to destroy others instantaneously. It is not a conjecture that this generation that preaches peace more than any other in history is mostly torn by strife and envy.

The world emphasizes peace and by its definition, it typifies the absence of war but much more than this, there is inner peace, unflinching tranquility that the mind desires, a bold resolve to be at ease without which the peace of the world would be a quixotic dream. As long as peace between men is predicated on the moods of people engulfed with vile hatred and frustration at others, there would be no peace in the world.

The people of the world perpetuate evil and they are ready at any time to destroy to advance their causes and vicious acts. A glance at them and their acts attest to the bankruptcy of the tranquil world. At the store, on the bus, at home, in any exchange, people are on a pursuit and there is no inner peace among them.

You have depended on many things but still, peace sounds so elusive to you. You have relied on your parents, friends, spouse, work, and career and you still can’t find this inner peace. Nothing in this world can satisfy and bring inner peace, it has to come from above.

This inner peace cannot be found on earth, it cannot be developed in the halls of learning, the ablest of men died searching for it. It is a gift from God and it doesn’t depend on mood or prevailing circumstance. It is found in the custody of children and those whose trust is in their maker. The inner peace that you need cannot come from this world just like he said “the peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth, give I unto you”.
